Hilary Griffiths is the Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Wuppertal Opera, one of the most progressive and exciting opera companies in Germany. He was previously Chief Conductor of the Prague State Opera, Principal Conductor at the Cologne Opera, General Music Director of the City of Regensburg and Music Director of the Eutin Festival.
He has conducted at the Edinburgh Festival, the Wiesbaden May Festival, the Würzburg Mozart Festival, the Schwetzingen Festival, the Perth Festival and the Prague Spring Festival. He has appeared several times in Japan, China and Australia, performs throughout Europe, and makes regular visits to South America. In July 2010 he was invited to conduct at the Lincoln Center Festival in New York.
